The App School is a free pro­gramme that will take you on a jour­ney to turn your bright idea for an iPhone app into reality.

By team­ing up with indus­try experts and top dig­i­tal com­pa­nies, App School will put you through a ‘boot camp’ style crash-course of ‘Ideas Labs’ and ‘Busi­ness Labs’ — inten­sive work­shops that will teach the basics behind turn­ing a great idea into a real work­ing app.

Ideas Labs

A 2-day week­end work­shop based around cre­ative inno­va­tion  -  learn­ing how to gen­er­ate and devel­op­ing your ideas. Dur­ing the week­end you’ll meet suc­cess­ful app devel­op­ers who will give you a unique insight into the cre­ative process. The ideas Labs will take place at Cor­ner­house, and include ‘Food & Awe’  — a meal with a difference!

Busi­ness Labs

Once you have a full-developed idea, that just might work, what does it really take to turn your ideas into a work­ing app? Led by expe­ri­enced pro­fes­sion­als from the dig­i­tal indus­tries, these busi­ness work­shops will give you a fast-track course in the key skills and processes required to cre­ate an app. You’ll get to grips with essen­tial busi­ness skills, project man­age­ment, team­work­ing and pitch­ing and pre­sent­ing — every­thing you’ll need to get you started in cre­ative business.

Pitch­ing Session

At the end of The App School, you’ll have the chance to pitch your fin­ished idea to a panel of cre­ative com­pa­nies — and if they like what they see, they’ll build the app for you and get it on the iTunes App Store!!!

Whether your app is selected or not, you’ll have learnt a mas­sive amount and have fan­tas­tic indus­try con­tacts — improv­ing your chances of get­ting a  job in the cre­ative indus­tries in Manchester.
